As in every production, there are individuals who have come to our aid and unfortunately are not mentioned in the program. We take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this production possible. _______________________________________________________________________
DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Community Players of Salisbury’s fall production of the family classic, The Wizard of OZ. We are very pleased to bring you this wonderful, charming, and heart-warming story of the young girl named Dorothy and her adventures in the land of OZ. In my research for this production, I discovered that The Wizard of OZ is staged an average of twenty-five times a year worldwide by various theatre groups, making it one of the most popular productions of all time. This has been a particularly challenging experience for me working with such a large and talented cast who range in age from 5 to 70+ years old. It is my hope that we have given these children (and adults) an opportunity to experience the theatre first hand, learn new concepts and ideas, and have some fun all at the same time. I’d like to offer a huge thank you to everyone who assisted me in this endeavor; I could never have done it without the encouragement and constant support of those very special people. And perhaps the most positive aspect of this production is the presence of families working, learning, and “playing” together. If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is that the friends you make in the theatre are more than friends, they are family. So welcome to our family and we hope you will continue to be a part of our family for many years to come. Sherri Trader-Hynes Director
